Our Lady of the Lakes offers many service opportunities through which youth through adults may share their time, talent and faith with those in need. We offer youth and adult mission trips, local service opportunities like Safe Harbor, Community SHARe, Mary's Room, visiting the homebound and hospitalized, helping at local nursing homes, and a wide variety of other ministries.
YOUTH MISSION TRIPS
During the summer, teens travel to other parts of the United States to serve those less fortunate. Teens fund raise to pay for the expenses of the trip. They participate in fund raisers such as bussing tables at Pizza Ranch, making and selling soup, making and selling cookies, selling stock in themselves, spaghetti dinner and pancake breakfast. If you are interested in attending one of these trips or if you want more information, contact Terry Mahler 920-994-8033.
ADULT MISSION TRIPS
Once or twice a year, our parish offers adult mission trips in conjunction with other local parishes. Locations vary. We have taken trips to Bay St. Louis, MS, following Hurricane Katrina; Gays Mills, WI, following massive flooding; and Barren Springs, VA, to work in the poverty-stricken Appalachian Mountains. For more information on the adult mission trips, please contact Pastoral Associate Deb Hamm at 920-994-4380.
Community SHARe is an organization of local businesses and churches to help those in need in the Town of SHerman, and the villages of Adell and Random Lake. Volunteers are kept on a list and contacted when people ask for assistance. To volunteer, or ask for assistance, please call the Random Lake Area Chamber of Commerce office at 920-994-9054 or email RLACC@randomlake.org.
